My Essential Travel Toiletries

I know us ladies (and gents) always want to pack the kitchen sink when travelling but due to weight restrictions, we can’t. Travelling frequently has helped me to put together a couple of essential travel toiletries that I can’t live without on holiday. These are..

Soltan Face and Body sun cream (£5, 50ml and £6, 200ml, Boots)

This is my favourite sun cream range. I’ve been using it from a young age and never had any problems with it. The products also have effective protection from insects without the insect repellent odour, which is always an added bonus! I’ve tried other brands but I’ve always gone back to this one.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Aftersun (£7, 180ml, Boots)

I not only LOVE this afersun, I love the entire ‘Hawaiian Tropic’ range, purely due to their scent. If you like the idea of smelling like a piña colada, you will adore this. I love anything that smells of coconut, pineapple, mango, etc, it makes me feel exotic (lol!) This product is light and hydrating with soothing aloe gel; perfect after a day in the sun.

Simple Face Products (£1.29 each, 50 ml, £3,45, 200ml, Boots)

I love the simple range and have been using it for years. The products are perfect for holidays’ as they are hydrating without being greasy on the face. I buy the travel sizes to travel with and end up using them for multiple holidays as there is so much product in the bottles. They are quality products which are great value for money!

Carmex Moisture Plus Berry Sheer Tint, SPF 15 lip balm (£4.49, Boots)

This is the most moisterising lip balm I have EVER used. It has a red/berry ish tint giving your lips some subtle colour, while providing SPF, which is always nice. I like to wear this with some mascara for the ‘no make up, make up’ look on holiday during the day.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Tone Shampoo and Conditioner (£5.99 each, 250ml, Boots)

This is my favourite shampoo and conditioner duo to use on holiday. As my hair is heavily bleached, the sun and chlorine in the pools have a tendency to turn my blonde locks yellow and brassy. This toning duo helps to keep my hair colour in tact, reducing frizz, while maintaining a soft and silky texture at the same time.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir (£9.99, 100ml, Boots)

On holiday I like to air dry my hair after washing it. I put a small amount of this in the ends of my hair, avoiding my scalp, (as this will make your newly washed hair appear greasy) when it is dry. It makes my hair look and feel glossy and sleek, while helping to keep the frizziness at bay.

MAC Fix + (£17, 100ml, MAC)

I absolutely swear by this product. It is pricey, but definitely worth the money. I use this on holiday to refresh my face during the day, especially when the sun is hot. I also use this to set my makeup in the evening and it literally keeps my makeup in place all night. Multi-use products are great for travelling as they help to keep the weight of your baggage down.

Sanctuary Spa Gentle Polish Body Scrub (£2.50, 50ml, Boots)

This product is perfect for exfoliating after a long day of being in the sun and applying sun cream. I find after applying sun cream multiple times during the day, I’m left with a sticky layer on top of my skin. This helps to gently scrub off this layer and the rest of the dead skin, without being too harsh, leaving my skin lovely and soft.
